Which Oil Should I Use?
Posted by SPECIAL HARDWOOD
2C Oil contains two components: Part A - Oil and Part B - Accelerator
2C Oil is recommended for high traffic/usage areas such as, flooring, countertops and high use or commercially used furniture and fixtures. The dry time of 2C Oil is 36 hours. It will be water resistant in 7 days.
Once Part A and Part B are mixed, the oil is only usable for 6-7 hours. After 6-7 hours, all mixed oil will no longer be usable.
When to Choose Oil Plus (Part A Only):
The Part A Oil has an unlimited pot life. It can be reactivated by using Part A Oil on the existing Part A Oil on the wood's surface. This is more desirable for vertical surfaces such as: beams, fixtures and some furniture. Using Part A is also desired for sample preparation. The catalyst will not alter the color of the oil. Oil Plus has a dry time of 36 hours and will be water resistant in 21 days. The Part A Oil may be resealed after use. It has a shelf life of 2-3 years.
When To Choose Universal Oil or Rubio Monocoat Renew:
When performing annual maintenance to your Rubio Monocoat Oil Finished floor, you have a choice of a "Matte" or flat finish, or a "Soft Satin Sheen" finish.
For maintaining and rejuvenating a Rubio Monocoat "Matte" appearance, Rubio Monocoat Renew is recommended.
For a "Soft Satin Sheen" appearance, using Rubio Monocoat Universal Maintenance Oil is suggested.
